Department Summary

The Office of Student Success promotes high-quality advising across UNT’s advising units through coordination, training/ professional development, and leadership support. Our advising team offers pathways counseling to prospective and current students, TSI advising, and academic preparedness resources. The office is located in the Academic Success Center at Sage Hall.

The role provides leadership for academic coaching, tutoring, and academic integrity initiatives while ensuring students have access to resources and support services that foster academic skill development, accountability, and student success. The position also oversees the supervision and daily operations of student support personnel, including tutors and academic coaches, and contributes to the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs and services that align with the university’s student success and retention goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and oversee peer tutoring, academic coaching, academic integrity education, and graduate student support programs.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff and support personnel, including Lead Tutors, Peer Academic Coaches, Volunteer Tutors, Graduate Assistants, and a full-time employee.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, outreach programs, and one-on-one academic support services for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Integrate academic integrity education initiatives within academic coaching practices, student interventions, and student success programming.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, academic departments, Student Development, and other university offices to support student success and academic integrity initiatives.
  • Assist with program assessment, evaluation, reporting, and research activities related to student learning, retention, academic success, and academic integrity outcomes.
