Position Overview
This position leads engagement initiatives across the student-to-alumni transition, with a focus on career connection, identity development and long-term community building. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with Alumni Relations colleagues, campus partners and other stakeholders to deliver a cohesive, coordinated and meaningful constituent experience.
Duties will include:
Design and implement initiatives and programming to drive student and young alumni engagement
Develop and support career-focused engagement opportunities
Cultivate and maintain relationships with campus partners, faculty, student organizations and alumni volunteers
Two years of experience in program development, engagement, event planning or relationship management
Experience coordinating and executing programs or initiatives
Experience working collaboratively with partners or stakeholders
Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree

Ability to travel
Ability to work nonstandard business hours which may include weekends and holidays
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university vehicles
Additional Preferred
Demonstrated interest in engagement, events or higher education
Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute strategic ideas
Experience in alumni relations, higher education or student engagement
Developing programs for students or early career professionals
Analyzing participation data and improving programs based on insights
Experience in event planning and coordination
Supervising staff
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to lift, carry or otherwise move up to 25 pounds
Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for long periods of time
Degree Requirement Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire
