Job Title: Assistant Director, School-Based

Location: Quincy, IL

Department: School Based Services Illinois

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM

As our organization continues to grow and expand School‑Based services to meet the needs of students and families, we are excited to introduce this new leadership role!

The School-Based Assistant Director is a licensed mental health professional who provides direct clinical services while also supervising and developing a team of School Based Clinical Providers This role maintains an active caseload and delivers services in schools and client homes, while ensuring high‑quality care, regulatory compliance, and strong team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical & Caseload Responsibilities

  • Carry and manage an assigned clinical caseload, providing direct services to children and adolescents.
  • Provide individual, group, family, and other therapeutic counseling services in school‑based, home‑based, and community settings, utilizing evidence‑based practices.
  • Participate in client staffing to assess needs, identify problems, and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with client goals.

Supervision & Leadership

  • Provide clinical supervision to School Based Providers, including regularly scheduled individual supervision and team meetings.
  • Support supervisees in effective time management in accordance with DMH standards and departmental expectations
  • Review clinical documentation for quality, accuracy, and compliance; provide feedback and corrective action as needed.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of clinical staff, including interviews and staff development activities.
  • Foster a culture of professional growth, accountability, collaboration, and continuous quality improvement.

Program & Administrative Oversight

  • Provide leadership across department operations, including development and implementation of school‑based programs and services.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and organizational standards.
  • Ensuring all required staff training has been completed and documented.
  • Report critical incidents and staff responses to the Assistant Director or Director in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve travel vouchers, ensuring mileage is appropriate and medically necessary.
  • Function in accordance with Centerstone Operational Guidelines and applicable professional codes of ethics.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health field, or a licensed professional with post‑licensure mental health experience.
  • Must possess an active mental health license in the state of practice (IL).
    • IL: Fully or independently licensed clinician (e.g., LCSW, LCPC, or Clinical Psychologist)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check
  • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to build trust and foster positive relationships with team members and clients
