Chicago Marriott Northwest is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Sales to support the Director of Sales in developing and executing the hotel's sales strategy. This position will assist with generating new business, managing key accounts, building client relationships, and achieving hotel revenue goals.
The ideal candidate will have strong hotel sales experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and internal hotel departments.
Assist the Director of Sales in developing and implementing sales strategies.
Support the sales team in achieving revenue, occupancy, and market-share goals.
Generate new business through corporate accounts, group business, meetings, events, and leisure accounts.
Conduct sales calls, client meetings, property tours, presentations, and networking activities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, travel agencies, and local businesses.
Assist with managing key accounts and maintaining existing business relationships.
Prepare proposals, contracts, sales presentations, and other client communications.
Follow up on leads and convert opportunities into confirmed business.
Assist with group bookings, meetings, conferences, and events.
Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to increase market share.
Work closely with Revenue Management to maximize room rates, occupancy, and overall hotel revenue.
Assist in preparing sales forecasts, reports, budgets, and action plans.
Support the Director of Sales in training, coaching, and motivating the sales team.
Coordinate with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Events, and Operations departments to ensure successful client experiences.
Represent the hotel at trade shows, community events, networking functions, and industry meetings.
Maintain accurate records in the hotel's sales and CRM systems.
Ensure sales activities follow Marriott standards and company policies.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
2–4 years of hotel sales experience preferred.
Previous experience as a Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, or similar hospitality sales position preferred.
Strong knowledge of corporate, group, leisure, and meeting/event sales.
Proven ability to develop new accounts and generate revenue.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting the overall sales team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel sales/CRM systems.
Marriott or other major hotel brand experience is preferred.
Flexibility to attend occasional evening, weekend, and networking events.
Competitive salary: $55,000 – $85,000 per year
