About the role

Directs and controls the activities of the Front Desk, Reservations, Communications, Concierge, Housekeeping, Laundry, KFAS, Guest Services, Guest Experience and Business Centre. Acts as the senior manager in these departments when department head is unavailable. Assumes the responsibilities of the Director of Rooms in his/her absence. Responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing theguestneeds and requests and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achievemaximumcustomer satisfaction whilecomplying withall Four Seasons’ policies.

What you will do

•   Manages the Department Heads in the departments named above. Ensures thorough communications and follow-up on any problems, guest or employeerequestorspecial requirements, and hotel initiatives. Interviews, and trains the staff. Conducts Performance Evaluations anddisciplinesstaff when needed.

•   Reviews and monitors schedules of staff in all departments in the Rooms Division. Monitors their activities toassurethat standards are being met, staff is beingsupportedand guest needs are being met. Inspects all areas of responsibility in the Rooms Division.

•   Resolves customer complaints from all areas of the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Will resolve complaints in person, by phone or through written message.

•   Assistscustomers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc. Responds to all guest requests inan accurateandtimelymanner. Interaction withguestwill be in person and by phone.

•   Assures that financial goals are being met. Monitors and controls laborexpense, and supplies/equipment expenses. Works closely with Reservations,Salesand the Front Office to maximize rate,occupancyand total revenue. Maintains close relationships with retail tenants and concessions to ensure guest service standards are met along with revenue/expense targets.AssistsDirector of Rooms in preparing Annual Budget.

What you bring  

•   Two yearsprevioushotel management experience, preferably in the front office.

•   Requires a working knowledge of the Front Desk and Concierges aspect of Four Seasons services, policies or operations and general knowledge of Housekeeping, the hotel and area. Working knowledge isgenerally learnedon-the-job.

•   It requires knowledge for the ability to operatecomputer equipment and the reservations system.

•  The  ability to read and speak English.

Schedule & Hours

•   Full time

•   The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need.
