Job Description

Join our team as Assistant Director of Rooms for Solage, serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by becoming a service culture leader of the property; responsible for ensuring the guest experience is consistent, and best in class. The Assistant Director of Rooms will oversee all aspects of Front Office and Housekeeping operations, ensuring that the quality of service meets the resort’s standards. The Assistant Director of Rooms will lead with our ENRICH values thereby championing the Auberge Promise by creating and supporting a cohesive team and will be key in building interdepartmental collaboration.

  • Assists in leading and managing the day to day operations of Front Office and Housekeeping.
  • Supports the Front Office/Housekeeping as MOD and in other roles when needed.
  • Understands hourly positions well enough to perform duties in team members' absence or during peak volume periods.
  • Oversees group business as it pertains to the Rooms Division, reviewing and ensuring that specifications of group resumes are met.
  • Ensures thorough communication of and follow-up to guest or team member requests/special requirements and hotel initiatives.
  • Respond to guest feedback (Revinate/Guest Services inbox/Alice service recoveries). Analyzes, communicates, and identifies any trends or missing processes.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain and enhance the quality of guest rooms, ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and adherence to brand standards by partnering with Housekeeping and Engineering teams.
  • Leads and is responsible for the Perfect Room Program in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and team members. Responds swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation. Acts as Safety Ambassador.
  • Advocates sound financial/business decision making.
  • Reviews and critiques General Ledger.
  • Assists with recruiting efforts and ensures that all department managers are in compliance with standards of interviewing and hiring procedures.
  • Implement and uphold high standards of guest service, ensuring that all guests experience a seamless check-in, comfortable stay, and efficient check-out process.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of front office and housekeeping professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure excellence in service delivery.
  • Ensures team members are treated fairly and equitably. Strives to improve team member engagement.
  • Conducts coaching, counseling, performance reviews and check ins.
  • Collaborate with the Area Director of Experiences to promote and enhance our experiences to our guests.
  • Collaborate with Rooms Division leaders to align on achieving key metrics (NPS, EES, Rooms operating profit)
  • Attends weekly labor meetings.
  • Work to continuously improve and streamline Rooms Division’s procedures and processes by creating new SOPs and rolling out new systems/initiatives.
  • Be a champion of Alice and Opera, ensuring the Rooms Division is informed of any updates and is using these systems to its full potential
  • Drive innovation and creativity in both Housekeeping and Front office to enhance both the Team Member and Guest experience
  • Starting range is $100-125,000 annually

Qualifications

  • Several years of progressive experience in hotel management, preferably in luxury, with a focus on rooms division operations, front office management, and housekeeping. Prior experience in supervisory or managerial roles is essential.
  • A proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service with a keen understanding of guest satisfaction metrics and strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Sound analytical and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to analyze performance metrics, make data-driven decisions, and implement strategies to optimize room revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Full Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule.
