
Assistant Director of Nursing – Med/Surg III North
Location: Finger Lakes Health
Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer
Finger Lakes Health is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADN) to provide leadership and operational oversight for our Medical/Surgical units III North This role supports quality patient care, staff development, patient safety initiatives, and operational efficiency while fostering a collaborative, relationship-based care environment.
Provide leadership and oversight for RNs, Nursing Assistants, Unit Clerks, and Operations Coordinators
Promote high-quality, patient-centered nursing care and a strong culture of safety
Monitor clinical indicators and lead quality improvement initiatives using evidence-based practices
Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and professional growth opportunities
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient care coordination and resource management
Assist with recruitment, retention, orientation, and ongoing education of nursing staff
Maintain readiness for regulatory and accreditation requirements
Education
MSN or currently enrolled and in progress.
Licensure & Certifications
Current New York State RN license
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required upon hire or during orientation
Experience
5+ years of acute care hospital nursing experience
Recent Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience required
3+ years of leadership/management experience (Charge Nurse does not count)
Moderate sedation competency required within 3 months of hire
Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
Familiarity with Joint Commission standards
Experience with Microsoft Office and Meditech preferred

Salary Based on Manager/Director Experience
Salary Range of Pay $125,000.00-$140,000.00
