Job Description

Assistant Director of Human Resources serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is responsible to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Human Resources Department. To establish and maintain excellent team member relations and morale to achieve a high standard of team member performance in line with Hilton’s guest satisfaction objectives, as well as the hotel’s business and strategic plans. Create and maintain a hotel culture that provides the environment required to meet the visions.

Specifically, as an Assistant Director of Human Resources for Waldorf Astoria Maldives you will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Deliver exceptional guest service with a proactive and guest-focused approach.

  • Promote Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi and Hilton brand services and facilities.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and comply with all health, safety, fire, and hygiene policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Waldorf Astoria Brand Standards, Quality Assurance standards, and Hilton values.
  • Adhere to the Team Member Handbook, resort policies, grooming standards, and uniform requirements.
  • Lead and ensure compliance with all Human Resources policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources Department.
  • Administer team member welfare programs, benefits, and employee relations initiatives.
  • Coordinate HR documentation and ensure timely submission to corporate/regional HR.
  • Conduct departmental communication meetings and support a culture of service excellence.
  • Manage university partnerships, internships, management trainee programs, and talent development initiatives.
  • Monitor HR metrics, dashboards, audits, and provide guidance to department leaders for improvement.
  • Handle employee and guest complaints professionally and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Oversee performance management, appraisals, GTMS, feedback, and disciplinary processes.
  • Support financial objectives through budgeting, payroll management, cost control, and compensation planning.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, succession planning, leadership development, and training programs.
  • Ensure fair treatment of all team members in accordance with company policies and employment laws.
  • Promote employee engagement, communication, coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Build strong relationships with employees, business partners, and external stakeholders while responding to industry changes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management while ensuring compliance with resort security, emergency procedures, and company policies.
