The Assistant Director of Experiential Engagement serves as a primary front-facing representative of Alumni Engagement & Philanthropy at events and is responsible for creating exceptional alumni experiences that strengthen engagement, inspire philanthropy, and elevate Seton Hall University's reputation. Reporting to the Director of Experiential Engagement, the Assistant Director develops meaningful relationships with alumni, families, donors, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and campus partners while leading the planning and execution of a comprehensive portfolio of alumni events. The position is responsible for sponsorship development, committee management in partnership with the Director of Volunteer & Strategic Engagement, and ensuring every alumni experience reflects the University's commitment to excellence.

While the Director of Experiential Engagement focuses on strategic planning, operational management, budgets, logistics, contracts, and departmental oversight, the Assistant Director serves as the department's primary front-facing representative responsible for constituent engagement, sponsorship development, and the successful delivery of alumni experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Serve as a primary front-facing representative of Alumni Engagement & Philanthropy at almost all alumni events. Build relationships with alumni, parents, donors, volunteers, sponsors, vendors and campus partners before, during, and after events. Facilitate constituent engagement, identify volunteer and philanthropic opportunities, and ensure an exceptional alumni experience. Attendance at nearly all Alumni Engagement & Philanthropy events is an essential function of this position and will regularly require evening and weekend work. 35% of time

1. Lead planning and execution of Many Are One Alumni Gala, regional events, athletic events, affinity events, young alumni programs, school/college events, campaign events, family events, and other alumni and family experiences. Assist in the planning and execution of additional constituent experiences, such as Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend, Alumni Reunion Weekend, and other alumni and family experiences. Coordinate contracts, vendors, registration, budgets, timelines, staffing, risk management and day-of operations while working closely with the Director of Experiential Engagement. 35% of time
2. Generate revenue through sponsorship solicitation, stewardship and renewal. Work closely with the Director of Volunteer & Strategic Engagement to recruit and manage event committees, strengthen volunteer leadership, fulfill sponsorship benefits and cultivate long-term corporate partnerships. This includes identifying, soliciting, renewing, and stewarding sponsors, building long-term partnerships, and fulfilling sponsor benefits.

20% of time

1. Collaborate closely with University Advancement and campus partners as an integrated member of the Alumni Engagement & Philanthropy team, contributing across philanthropy, communications, digital engagement, experiential programming, leadership giving, and volunteer initiatives. Foster mutually beneficial relationships that inspire loyalty and financial support, enhance the University’s reputation, and advance Seton Hall’s mission, the For All, Forever campaign, and future fundraising campaigns. 10% of time

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one to three years of experience in event planning, execution and front-facing constituent interaction. The successful applicant will have exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrated project management skills, and experience in sales, fundraising and budgeting.

Must have a license and access to reliable transportation in order to attend events and engage with constituents as needed. Nights and weekends are required, as the person in this position will attend most engagement events.

Salary Range:

$56,000 - $77,000
