About the Role


The Assistant Director of Education partners with the Center Director and leadership team to ensure consistent delivery of a high-quality educational program. This role focuses on curriculum implementation, teacher development, and creating engaging learning environments aligned with Goddard standards.

You will be a hands-on leader - present in classrooms, supporting teachers, and ensuring developmentally appropriate, high-quality instruction.


What You’ll Do


Educational Leadership & Curriculum

  • Support implementation of Wonder of Learning™ curriculum
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback
  • Review lesson plans and support assessment cycles
  • Guide child observation and individualized learning


Teacher Development

  • Coach, mentor, and support teachers to improve practice
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing professional development
  • Foster a positive, growth-focused teaching culture

Family Experience

  • Communicate educational value to families
  • Ensure learning is visible through classroom experiences
  • Support family conferences and engagement

Enrollment & School Support

  • Partner on tours, enrollment, and transitions
  • Support retention through strong program quality

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure classrooms meet licensing and QA standards
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation
  • Stay current on regulations and implement updates


Education & Qualifications


Candidates must meet one of the following per Ohio Department of Job and Family Services requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field (strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with early childhood coursework (18 semester hours)
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with leadership experience
  • Associate degree in related field with progressive childcare experience

Additional requirements:

  • 1+ year leadership or management experience (childcare preferred)
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development
  • Experience coaching teachers preferred
  • Ability to model classroom instruction
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Compliance with Ohio Administrative Code 5101:2-12-07
  • Completion of required trainings
