Job Profile Summary:
Provides advice and guidance to students in specialized area(s) of academic, professional, and personal support services to overcome complex academic and non-academic barriers and enhance their skills to increase persistence and graduation rates.
The Assistant Director of Experiential Learning is a highly consultative role designed to expand and elevate high-impact internship opportunities for ASU students. Operating within a collaborative university model, you will serve as a partner to employers, guiding them in designing equitable, mentorship-focused internship programs that align with ASU’s diverse academic programs, student profiles, and academic timelines. Internally, you will drive systemic consistency and quality by leading the Internship Professionals Network (IPN) community of practice—facilitating quarterly meetings, sharing best practices and managing key communication channels, and curating resources that empower internship coordinators across all ASU campuses.

The Assistant Director of Experiential Learning is part of a one Career Services team model that provides a variety of career advice services to students and recent alumni through every step of the career & professional development process. Career Services serves ASU students and new alumni through engagement opportunities tailored to their unique backgrounds, talents, experiences, academic preparation and professional goals. Career Services provides commensurate programs, services, and resources at all four Phoenix area locations, as well as ASU Online. Staff work collaboratively with Career Services’ leadership and staff at each location, and as part of the Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) Vice Presidential area. EOSS provides the ASU student community with support services, involvement opportunities and a rich Sun Devil experience to assist students in achieving their personal and academic goals.
