Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment Marketing, the Assistant Director of Enrollment Content is responsible for producing, writing, and overseeing the development of brand-aligned, enrollment-focused content across channels, ensuring alignment with division-wide messaging frameworks and enrollment marketing priorities.

The Assistant Director independently manages complex, multi-channel content projects from concept through execution, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with enrollment strategy.

The role requires strong writing and editing skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of what motivates prospective students to engage, inquire, visit, apply, and enroll, along with the ability to
manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.

The Assistant Director works collaboratively with colleagues across Strategic Marketing and Communications, as well as campus partners, to develop and refine high-impact content across the enrollment funnel.

This position requires strong judgment and professionalism, including the ability to incorporate feedback, navigate cross-functional relationships, and apply audience and performance insights to improve content effectiveness and engagement.

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree
* At least 3 years of directly related content development, writing, editing, and/or content strategy experience in a complex marketing environment.
* Prior supervisory experience, including performance management and oversight of at least one direct report.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience
* Experience working in higher education enrollment marketing at undergraduate and graduate levels, or in a similarly complex deadline-oriented environment.
* Prior experience using Slate a plus.
* Experience working collaboratively with multiple clients or stakeholders to define content needs and incorporate feedback.
* Experience planning and creating content for multi-stage lead generation and engagement strategies.

* Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and channels.
* Ability to produce clear, compelling, and effective content aligned to audience needs and enrollment goals.
* Ability to use audience insights and CRM data to evaluate and improve content performance.

Preferred Skills and Abilities
* Deep understanding of undergraduate and graduate enrollment audiences, including differences in decision-making processes, messaging strategies, and channel effectiveness.
* Strong understanding of enrollment marketing content development and execution, particularly email and SMS within CRM-driven environments, and how advertising, print, and web content support the enrollment cycle.

Essential Duties
* Collaborates with cross-functional enrollment, marketing, communications, and academic partners to develop clear, audience-centered content across channels, navigating diverse stakeholder perspectives to ensure alignment, consistency, and quality.
* Develops and applies enrollment-specific messaging frameworks, ensuring content aligns with institutional messaging, editorial standards, and brand voice across all channels.
* Serves as the primary content writer and editor for enrollment marketing initiatives, producing high-quality content across email, SMS, print, web, and advertising (including brand campaigns) that supports engagement across the enrollment funnel.
* Contributes to the development of content strategies and campaign plans, translating stakeholder input and enrollment goals into clear messaging recommendations and execution guidance.
* Ensures accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all content by applying strong editorial judgment, fact-checking standards, and brand governance.
* Partners with analytics and insights teams to apply performance data, A/B testing, and audience research to refine and improve content effectiveness.
* Develops content tailored to specific audiences, platforms, and objectives, continuously iterating based on performance and feedback.
* Supervises the Enrollment Content Specialist, including overseeing performance, managing workflow, providing guidance and support, identifying development needs, and issuing feedback.
* Maintains working knowledge of academic programs, student audiences, and competitive positioning to inform content development and storytelling.
* Stays current on enrollment marketing best practices, including responsible use of emerging technologies such as generative AI, and integrates them into content workflows.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
