Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic early childhood professional to join our Early Learning Centre (ELC) as an Assistant Director.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to the effective operation, educational direction and ongoing development of a high-quality , inclusive educational program.

The Opportunity

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of an assigned learning environment and supporting the delivery of a high-quality, inclusive educational program.
  • Support the Director with the coordination of staff, programs and the effective day-to-day operation of the ELC.
  • Contributing to the ELC's compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard, Education and Care Services National Regulations and other relevant requirements.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and support to educators fostering reflective practice and strong professional collaboration
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues and the wider College community.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Relevant Diploma qualification approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and relevant extensive experience or other relevant higher qualification and relevant experience.
  • Enthusiasm for early childhood education and thorough understanding of children’s growth and development.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, service policies and procedures, and regulatory authority expectations, with the ability to support compliance across daily practice.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework, and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, with demonstrated ability to support the design, implementation and evaluation of high-quality, age-appropriate, play-based programs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to lead by example.

Mandatory Clearances/Certifications

  • Blue Card, in accordance with ‘No Card, No Link, No Start’, as per the Working with Children Check Act 2000 and Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification
  • National Police Check
  • National Child Safety Training (as updated from time to time)
  • Any other clearances and or certifications required by Australian law (as updated from time to time)
