Job Description

[What the role is]

The Singapore Food Agency’s mission is to ensure and secure a supply of safe food for Singapore.

The Digital Technology & Transformation Division (DTT) designs, builds, and refreshes our digital capabilities and systems to enable effective, efficient, and resilient organisation processes. Through our work, we build up SFA’s capability to support the development of a new food safety ecosystem that is nimble, comprehensive and which encompasses every food-related transaction across the value chain, where all players along food supply chain take ownership to ensure food is safe for consumers.

The candidate will be working in the Digital Strategy & Innovation department in DTT and be responsible for driving the development of SFA’s tech and digital masterplans and roadmaps. This includes working with SFA Divisions to uncover new tech and digitalisation needs and opportunities, scoping projects/initiatives that leverage tech and digital tools to enhance the national food safety ecosystem, and develop training plans to build the needed digital capabilities in SFA to further transform SFA into a digitally enabled organisation.

[What you will be working on]

Areas of work

Develop SFA’s digitalisation roadmaps/masterplans

Track progress of initiatives/projects under these roadmaps/ masterplans

Work with SFA Divisions to uncover new tech and digitalisation needs and opportunities

Monitor tech developments/new technologies for potential deployment in SFA; build relationships with possible tech partners and experts

Scope projects/initiatives that leverage these technologies and/or readily available commercial or tech stack products/tools to better support SFA Divisions’ needs

Create Proof of Concepts to deliver small-scale solutions and resolve issues that may arise to ensure usability of the solutions

Develop training plans to build digital capabilities in DTT and SFA

Manage resources allocated to DTT; prioritise and triage projects/initiatives

Requirements

Degree in STEM disciplines will be advantageous

Work experience in tech/digital strategy, planning, or transformation roles

Ability to engage and establish rapport with stakeholders, senior management and contributors at all levels of the organisation

Demonstrate anticipative, agile, resilient, and collaborative behaviour – officer must be able to plan ahead, update plans due to fast changing developments, stay mission focused, and surmount obstacles

Strong analytical, organisational and planning skills

Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
