
About the Opportunity
The Assistant Director of the Center for Intercultural Engagement (CIE) advances cultural literacy and strengthens resources of care for all students at Northeastern University. Reporting to the Director, this position collaborates with the Director and Associate Directors to develop student engagement and support strategies that serve a diverse population across Northeastern's global campuses.
The Assistant Director holds primary responsibility for CIE's external-facing communications and outreach, including newsletters, event promotion, and community engagement. The role also oversees event logistics, involving risk management, contracts, purchasing, and reimbursements alongside day-to-day operational functions such as space management and student employee supervision. The Assistant Director contributes to the ideation, implementation, and evaluation of signature programs and events.
The Assistant Director may also provide mentorship and support to students and student organizations in collaboration with Center staff.
The CIE is embedded within Northeastern University’s Cultural and Spiritual Life unit, which is dedicated to the support, celebration, and advancement of cultural identity and affinity. The CIE’s programming aims to foster communal traditions and intersectional identities, advance intercultural dialogue and community-building skills, and promote holistic growth. It also seeks to build bridges with local, national, and global communities; promote wellness through self-care practices; and advance civic engagement as students work to build a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.
This position involves significant involvement in evening and weekend programs and events.

Expected Hiring Range:
$53,615.00 - $75,728.75
With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
