The Wake Forest University School of Business is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement. This role enhances how the School of Business connects with its graduates by managing alumni volunteer networks, expanding recognition programs, and increasing student-alumni connectivity to build long-term engagement.
This is an on-campus, in-person position located in Winston-Salem, NC. Our team thrives on real-time collaboration, shared energy, and deep connectivity to our campus community. While we offer situational flexibility during lower-density academic periods, a consistent physical presence is essential to support our highly collaborative team dynamic.

About the Role
Essential Functions:
Volunteer Management: Serve as the clearinghouse for alumni hand-raisers; review volunteer data to strategically place alumni into appropriate speaking, advisory, project-based and other roles across the School of Business.
Alumni Council Project Leadership: Serve as the primary lead for Alumni Council Project Teams, providing the oversight and operational support needed to execute projects that align with and support School of Business goals.
Reunion Programming: Plan and coordinate reunion events for graduate business alumni; review attendance data and attendee feedback to make practical updates to the programming each year.
Alumni Recognition: Oversee the alumni recognition program, managing the process for identifying and celebrating major life events (e.g., marriages, births, professional honors) to build long-term alumni connection.
Student-Alumni Connectivity: Act as the primary point of contact for student clubs and organizations seeking alumni speakers; develop a streamlined process to vet requests, identify high-impact alumni matches, and ensure a professional, high-quality experience for both speakers and student groups.
Future Initiatives: Identify emerging trends in alumni engagement to pilot new initiatives that deepen community affinity and participation.
Metrics & Analytics: Report and track key outcomes related to volunteer engagement, event participation, and programmatic metrics.
Regional & Off-Campus Events: Coordinate and attend local off-campus alumni events (i.e., happy hours) to build relationships and increase local alumni participation.

Support broader on-campus events for alumni
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree plus three years of related experience (e.g., volunteer management, event strategy, higher education, or project management), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Exceptional relationship manager with a demonstrated ability to build networks and foster mutually beneficial partnerships.
Strong organizational and execution skills; high standards of accountability with the ability to multitask, suggest process improvements, and meet deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; skilled in effective stakeholder management and collaboration.
Demonstrated ability to design frameworks, establish streamlined operational processes, and utilize data/feedback to evolve existing programs.
Ability to work effectively and collaborate with a broad spectrum of student populations, staff, and faculty colleagues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite and adaptability to alumni database/relationship management technology.
Ability to work after hours and travel periodically to support milestone events and alumni programming.
