A Glimpse of the Job

Mays Business School is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Student Experience and Academic Operations to oversee the student lifecycle experience for the MS Analytics program from onboarding through graduation. This dynamic position supports the MS Analytics program by providing academic advising, fostering student engagement and retention, coordinating program delivery, and ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience across program locations. The ideal candidate brings expertise in graduate education, university systems, degree planning, and international student policies, while serving as a trusted resource for students throughout their academic lifecycle. Working closely with faculty, staff, and stakeholders, you will drive operational excellence, support student success initiatives, and contribute to continuous program improvement. This role also partners in recruitment efforts, helping attract and support the next generation of analytics professionals.

What You Need to Know

Salary:$62,000 - $65,000/annually.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Six (6) years of related experience in higher education administration, student affairs, academic advising, program management, academic operations, student success, or a related field

A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:

  • Experience working in higher education, graduate education, or professional programs.

  • Experience in academic advising, student support services, retention initiatives, or program administration.

  • Experience coordinating academic operations, course delivery, or faculty support activities.

  • Experience utilizing learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, or similar platforms).

  • Experience managing projects, implementing process improvements, or coordinating cross-functional initiatives.

  • Knowledge of student success, advising, retention, and student support principles.

  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Ability to analyze information and make sound recommendations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and university partners.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.

  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and academic requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service.

  • Coordinate textbook and course material adoption and communication.

  • Support program delivery in College Station and Houston CityCentre as needed.

Administrative Support

  • Coordinate faculty onboarding and appointment processes, including routing memoranda and required documentation.

  • Facilitate administrative processes necessary for instructional assignments.

  • Support coordination of academic policies, student processes, and program operations.

  • Serve as a liaison between faculty, students, and program leadership regarding operational matters.

  • Support compliance with university, college, graduate school, and program policies and procedures.

Program Operations and Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate Student experience and program delivery effectiveness.

  • Develop reports and operational insights for program leadership.

  • Support assessment, and operational planning initiatives.

  • Recommend and implement improvements.

Assessment and Reporting

  • Develop reports, assessments, and operational insights for program leadership.

  • Evaluate student experience and program delivery effectiveness.

  • Identify gaps in program operations, curriculum execution, or student experience.
