Location: Karachi, Pakistan

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

  • assist in the development of water sampling and field testing protocols
  • support the preparation of training materials and data collection tools
  • assist in conducting training sessions for teachers and students
  • coordinate field visits and support water sample collection activities
  • ensure proper labelling, handling and documentation of water samples
  • maintain accurate project records and enter data into the project database
  • assist with basic laboratory analysis under the supervision of the principal investigator
  • support data quality assurance and preparation of project reports
  • liaise with participating schools and support community engagement activities.

Requirements:

You should have:

  • bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental education or a related field
  • fresh graduate or up to one year of relevant experience in environmental research, laboratory support or field-based projects
  • good understanding of field data collection and documentation practices
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with electronic data collection tools will be an advantage
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • good organisational, record-keeping and time management skills
  • ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • willingness to travel within Karachi for field activities
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to research and safety protocols.
