We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Cost Consultant with experience in the infrastructure and/or Industrial, Manufacturing & Technology sectors to join our team.

As part of our established, high-performing group, you will provide expert quantity surveying services across a diverse range of assets, with the chance to take the lead on your own projects. The position offers close collaboration with regional partners, providing excellent opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. Role accountabilities:

  • Work within established procedures to manage project cost control, reviewing commercial information to identify anomalies and ensure accurate, up-to-date data for management.
  • Contribute individually to professional cost management assignments to ensure project milestones and programmes are met.
  • Comply with risk and compliance principles by taking corrective actions or reporting unsafe/inappropriate situations and wider project risks to protect project delivery.
  • Interpret data and prepare supporting documentation (schedules, feasibility studies, cost reports), making straightforward recommendations to support senior decision-making.
  • Proactively assess and improve cost and commercial management processes by sharing knowledge, identifying opportunities, and providing expert advice.
  • Provide specialist cost management advice to internal and external stakeholders, assist senior staff in resolving stakeholder issues promptly, and contribute to ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and accurate cost plans and estimates for various construction activities (mechanical, and electrical).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant discipline, with progress towards a professional qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering analysis and insights to support commercial decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Experience in infrastructure and/or data center projects
  • Technical knowledge of construction processes and cost/commercial management.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and cost management software (e.g., CostX).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstration of self-management and prioritization skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong understanding of own area of specialism and a developing awareness of the wider organizational and programme environment.
