GENERAL PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Senior Cook, assists in the preparation of all meals for congregate as well as homebound clients; assists in keeping the kitchen clean and in good repair.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Washes dishes, pots and utensils.
- Assists with the cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment as needed.
- Maintains inventory control.
- Assists in meal preparation; follows county and state health requirements and NACOG nutritional requirements.
- Prepares homebound and congregate meals.
- Prepares and maintains the Soup and Salad Bar.
- Maintains the dining room, including wiping tables with sanitized water.
- Attends training as needed.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Serves as a backup to the Meals on Wheels driver.
- Performs janitorial-related duties as needed.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.

QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and

Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience as a Cook in an institutional or restaurant setting or similar work experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Food Handler permit. Background check required.
Required Knowledge of:
- Yavapai County Health Department regulations.
Required Ability to:
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Town staff, co-workers, senior citizens and the general public.
- Operate various and cleaning equipment.
- Communicate with senior citizens.
- Work with little or no supervision.
- Multi-task.
- Operate a personal computer and various software applications.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Occasionally required to lift 50 pounds or more. May be exposed to cleaning chemicals.
