Do you have Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent?

We have a permanent vacancy for an Assistant Cook in Dunfermline:

  • Pitreavie Primary School - 20 hours per week - 38 week contract (between Monday to Friday 8:30am and 3:00pm)

Duties within this school include preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food.

Duties may include transporting and serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen, it’s surround and equipment.

Completing required paperwork including electronic returns.

You will earn a competitive salary of £25,604.23 pro-rataand have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • £13.64 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
  • Pay is annualised (equal instalments every 4 week pay period).

We pay the Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £13.64 per hour for this post.

The Person

Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent is required.

You will be required to attend an induction training day before starting in post.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
