This position is responsible for directing the financial activities, including maintaining adequate and proper ledger accounts of all assets, liabilities and transactions of the divisional company and ensures that audits are performed. Manages the development and administration of the company’s financial operating plan and five-year forecasts. Prepares and reports financial results that conform to generally accepted accounting principles. Interacts with executives, managers, supervisors, sales personnel and department heads.

The typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

COMPENSATION:

The average salary is $100,000 - $120,000 annually.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Directs the accounting and financial activities of the company. Directs the preparation of journal entries and other accounting transactions affecting general ledger accounts. Ensures G/L accounts are maintained, and account balances are reconciled. Ensures compliance with SOX, SEC and GAAP.
  2. Directs the preparation of monthly financial statements. Interprets financial results for executive, management and operations personnel and assists with analytical reviews.
  3. Directs processes to ensure accounting controls are adequate for the protection of assets and the reliability of financial and management information reporting.
  4. Actively participates in company-wide controller group to establish standard procedures and practices where applicable.
  5. Manages the accounting department for the divisional company, including staffing needs and career development.
  6. Provides assistance and analysis on special projects, due diligence, benefit plan analysis or other financial activities, as needed.
  7. Oversee internal and external auditing including coordinating documentation for substantive and controls testing and collaborating with auditors to mitigate risk and ensure accuracy in reporting.
  8. Prepares and maintain accounting procedures and policies conforming with corporate standards.
  9. Serve as business partner to operations including analyzing financial result trends, watching for opportunities, and preparing for risks.
  10. Directs payroll processes to ensure legal, accurate, and compliant data in line with financial controls and reporting.
  11. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  12. Travel, generally occasional but may increase for special projects or assignments, may be required for meetings, job site visits, and business related functions
  13. Must maintain confidentiality to the highest degree and have excellent analytical abilities, team building skills.
  14. Must maintain the highest level of moral and ethical standards at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)

  1. Advanced computer skills using spreadsheet, presentation, databases and accounting software.
  2. Advanced knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  3. Accounting experience in general ledger accounting and auditing; financial forecasting and budgeting and financial reporting.
  4. Exposure to and experience with Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements desirable.
  5. Professional communication skills including written and verbal for internal and external customers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  2. Five years of related experience in accounting management/finance.
  3. Strong, proven analytical and financial skills.
  4. Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage, lead, motivate and mentor employees.
  5. High ethical and moral standards.
  6. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
