We help people with their banking, super, retirement and finances. Through upturns, downturns, recessions, and major life transitions. Every day, we help people see and make more of their financial potential, so that they can create their tomorrow. And we’ve been doing it for over 170 years.

If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.

The Assistant Company Secretary, Super Trustee supports the Senior Company Secretary in delivering high-quality governance and company secretarial services to the Trustee Board and its Committees. Working closely with the Executive Board Assistant, the role has primary responsibility for supporting the Trustee Board Audit Committee and Trustee Board Risk Committee, while assisting with broader governance matters, Board operations and regulatory obligations.

The role collaborates across the Group Corporate Governance team to ensure a consistent and efficient approach to managing company portfolios, governance processes and Board activities. It also contributes to a range of corporate governance projects and continuous improvement initiatives across AMP, helping to strengthen governance practices and enhance the effectiveness of Board and Committee operations.

How are you going to make an impact

  • Provide high-quality, proactive company secretarial support to the Trustee Board, Board Committees and other AMP legal entities, ensuring the efficient operation of governance processes and meetings.
  • Manage end-to-end Trustee Board Audit Committee and Trustee Board Risk Committee activities, including annual work plans, agendas, board papers, minutes, actions, and the timely distribution of meeting materials.
  • Maintain corporate registers, governance records and statutory filings, working closely with the Executive Board Assistant to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support key governance activities, including the Annual Members Meeting, Fund Annual Reports, director tenure renewals, Board and Committee charter reviews, Board evaluations, and broader corporate governance matters.
  • Coordinate responses to external audit, legal, compliance and assurance requests while providing accurate governance advice and support to the Trustee Board and Superannuation Trustee Office.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance governance processes, systems, efficiency and effectiveness, while contributing to team projects and governance-related initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, support the wider Corporate Governance team and provide assistance to Executive Board Assistants as required.

What you will bring to the role

  • Minimum 3 years company secretarial experience
  • Experience in preparing minutes, agendas, managing progress of matters arising and corporate governance matters
  • Experience working with non-executive boards or committees
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exposure to an electronic board portal such as Diligent Boards or a similar electronic company secretarial database
  • Relevant experience in the financial services industry, particularly APRA regulated entities, is desirable

Tertiary qualifications in business, law or a related field are desirable, as is completion of the Governance Institute of Australia's Certificate in Governance Practice. Familiarity with AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, and their practical application in the workplace will be well regarded.

Who You Are
