Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, Softball - (260000NR)

Towson University, a Division I member of the Coastal Athletic Association, is accepting applications for an Assistant Softball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. This position, under the direction of the head coach, teaches and provides instruction in the sport of softball and assists in the planning, promotion, and administration of a quality Division I softball program.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities for the Assistant Softball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following: Provides skill instruction for student athletes, including independent planning and implementation of a season-long plan for a set group of athletesParticipates in all aspects of practice instruction and game coachingUnder the direction of the head coach, recruits and evaluates prospective student-athletes; organizes official visits, including assigning hosts, creating travel itineraries and managing all budgetary elements of visits while adhering to all NCAA regulations; tracks all admissions through the application process of our prospective student-athletes; and provides instruction to student-athlete hosts on department/NCAA policies & procedures for a visitAssists with academic support, fundraising activities, and community servicing including communication and outreach to alumniCoordinates with Total Tiger Program Director to track and maintain accurate records of all student-athlete participation in Total Tiger programsAssists in all team operations including travel, bus, hotel, and restaurant plansMaintains video systemAssists in creating scouting reportsMaintains knowledge and adherence to NCAA rules, including completing monthly logs and summaries in correspondence with the Compliance OfficePerforms other duties as assigned The work hours for this position include nights and weekends, as required by the athletics schedule. Travel is required.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degreeOne year of successful softball coaching experience at the camp/clinic, high school, or collegiate levelKnowledge and understanding of NCAA rulesExcellent communication skillsPreferred Qualification:Softball coaching experience at the Division I level

Salary and Benefits Targeted hiring range is $56,500 - $59,500 and University benefits that include up to 17 holidays, and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission.
