Job Location: Bridgewater College - Bridgewater, VA 22812ASSISTANT MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH
Bridgewater College, a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach, to begin immediately. This is a part-time position, reporting to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the head coach in all facets of a Division III men’s basketball program
- Recruiting prospective student-athletes who fit the mission and culture of the program and the College
- Conducting on-court coaching during practices and games
- Developing detailed scouting reports for game opponents
- Providing mentoring and support for the student-athletes, particularly in regard to academics and player development
- Complying with all NCAA, conference and college policies and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Prior collegiate coaching experience and/or competitive collegiate playing experience required.
- Basic competency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier
GENERAL INFORMATION:  Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as a coeducational liberal arts college to serve the local community. Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville, Washington D.C., and Richmond, Bridgewater is home to a total student body of approximately 1,450 from 27 states and 19 countries. Bridgewater students study more than 60 majors and minors, in addition to four graduate programs and 10 pre-professional programs. Bridgewater College is an NCAA DIII school with approximately 40 percent of its students participating in intercollegiate athletics on 26 teams.
