🔎 About the Role

As the Assistant Chief Engineer, you will assist the Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering & Maintenance Department, ensuring all hotel systems and facilities operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, compliance with Thai safety and engineering standards, and implementation of energy-efficient practices. This leadership role is key to guaranteeing guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and the long-term sustainability of the resort.

🌟 What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Oversee all technical areas: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, water treatment, and building infrastructure.

  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules and manage corrective actions when required.

  • Ensure full compliance with Thai regulations on safety, building codes, fire prevention, and environmental standards.

  • Manage departmental budgets, cost control, and capital improvement projects.

  • Supervise contractors, vendors, and project works while maintaining RIU’s quality and safety standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to guarantee a safe environment for guests and staff.

  • Respond effectively to emergencies (e.g., power outages, fire alarms, system failures).

  • Support RIU’s sustainability initiatives through energy optimization and eco-friendly practices

✔️ What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, with at least 3 years in a similar leadership role in a 4- or 5-star property.

  • Skills: Strong technical expertise in MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), HVAC, fire safety, and water treatment. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage budgets, projects, and contractors effectively. Problem-solving and crisis-management abilities.

  • Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional Engineer License (Thai Council of Engineers) or equivalent local certification strongly preferred. Additional certifications in fire safety systems, energy management, or building services are a plus.

  • Other Requirements: Strong command of English (spoken and written); knowledge of Thai is a significant advantage. Must comply with Thai legal requirements for engineering practice; candidates with local certification/licensing will be prioritized.
