Job Description

Join a vibrant, mission-driven organization that makes a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and communities every day. At The Salvation Army, your work supports a legacy of service, compassion, and practical assistance for those who need it most.

Responsibilities

About the Role

The Assistant Camp Director is a key member of the Northern New England Divisional Youth Department, working directly alongside the Divisional Youth Secretaries to advance youth ministry across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The core of this work is building and sustaining programs that bring young people into meaningful connection with The Salvation Army's mission, through camp, through divisional events, and through ongoing relationships with corps and families throughout the region.

Camp Sebago is the anchor of this role, and program development is at the heart of it. You will play a key role in shaping what camp offers: the curriculum, lesson studies, activities, and overall programming that keeps Camp Sebago relevant, fun, and impactful for the kids who come through its doors. From June through August you are on-site as part of the camp leadership team, bringing that vision to life while supervising seasonal staff, managing camper communications and logistics, and maintaining all required program standards and credentialing requirements.

Year-round, you are a key player in the planning and execution of divisional youth events, Youth Councils, Bible Bowl, Family Camp, retreats, and more, while helping to manage the administrative infrastructure that keeps the Youth Department running: database management, promotional materials, staff hiring and payroll coordination, event registration, and ongoing outreach to corps throughout the Division. This is a role for someone who brings organizational depth and a genuine heart for youth ministry.
