The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support purchasing and procurement activities at its Earth City, Missouri location. In this role, you will help coordinate the flow of materials and services by supporting purchasing processes, supplier interactions, invoice activities, and order fulfillment. You will work with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to address purchasing-related issues, support operational needs, and contribute to efficient procurement processes. The position also provides opportunities to identify improvements that enhance workflow effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Create purchase orders from purchase requisitions and follow orders through delivery.
Provide updates on the delivery of goods.
Verify order acknowledgements and purchase orders.
Follow up with suppliers regarding delivery schedules.
Support invoice management activities.
Assist with vendor management activities.
Support accounts payable processes.
Recommend improvements that increase effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma with equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Accounts Payable, or a related environment.
Experience communicating with vendors by phone and e-mail regarding ordering and invoice discrepancies.
Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Communication, organizational, and follow-through skills.
