
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) and two (2) years of directly related full time professional experience in facilities management or a related field may be considered. Two (2) years of directly related full time professional experience in facilities management. Experience with structural trades and/or building operations. Supervisory experience. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Facilities Management or related field. Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Additional years (3+) of directly related full time professional experience in facilities management. Experience in custodial services/housekeeping management. Certified or licensed in building trades, building safety systems, building operations, and/or facilities management. Prior experience at a University or similar conference center facility.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Assistant Building Manager will support the Building Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Charles B. Wang Center. This includes managing custodial services, coordinating event support, ensuring safety and security, and assisting in facility maintenance. The position requires close collaboration with the Conference Services Unit, University Events Team, and various campus departments. The Assistant Building Manager must possess excellent customer service, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and be adept at problem-solving and multitasking in a dynamic environment.
Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non-Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
Essential Position: This has been designated as an essential position based on the duties of the job and the functions performed. Positions that are designated as such may be required to report to work/remain at work even if classes are canceled, and the campus is working on limited operations in an emergency.
Evening and weekend work may be required at times.
