Job Description

Position Summary

The Assistant Branch Manager III (ABM III) plays a critical leadership role in supporting branch operations while driving business growth, deepening member relationships, and contributing to division-level performance. An ABM III oversees daily branch operations by supervising workflows, supporting staff and training, and ensuring accurate execution of all processes.

As an ABM III, you'll provide advanced coaching and mentorship to all staff, strengthening individual and team performance. The Assistant Branch Manager III is instrumental in developing talent, building our leadership-bench strength, and ensuring consistent delivery of service excellence.

This role has expanded responsibility for driving business results by actively promoting sales initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, and enhancing member engagement across all channels. The ABM III partners closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to execute branch and division strategies, contributing to overall financial performance and market presence.

In this role, you'll maintain strict adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while reinforcing a strong risk management and compliance culture, ensuring a well-governed environment and support organizational integrity.

Salary Range

Base Annual Salary Range: $70,600 - $90,825 per year

The posted range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Essential Duties

  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and fraud risks.
  • Ensure full adherence to regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Lead resolution of audit findings, compliance issues, and risk events. Organize and lead task-force teams that will
  • Manage internal audits and support external exams by ensuring records and processes are compliant.
  • Operations Management
  • Serves as a strategic partner to leadership and key stakeholders, executing branch and division strategies that drive financial performance, expand members relationships, and strengthen the organization’s market presence and competitive position.
  • Provide oversight of complex transactions, escalations, and operational exceptions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to take proactive action to improve operational and business outcomes
  • Drives growth of branch portfolio through strong member relationships and business development efforts.
  • Certified notary, medallion, and NMLS registration required. LBE certifications may be assigned.
  • Leadership
  • Provide advanced coaching, mentoring, and performance management to develop high-performing teams and future leaders. Support succession planning and talent development across division and organization.
  • Drive employee engagement, accountability, and a culture of collaboration and member service excellence.
  • Influence decision-making by using data, performance trends, and business insights
  • Reinforce organizational values, service standards, and leadership expectations.
  • Partner with leaders across the organization to align on strategy, influence decisions, and drive coordinated efforts that advances division performance and growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of related experience in Retail Banking management.
  2. Advanced understanding of branch operations, financial performance drivers, and business strategy execution, connecting branch activities to division and organizational goals.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of credit union products and services with understanding of consumer lending processes and underwriting fundamentals.
  4. Notary certified, Medallion, and Licensed Banker within the first 12 months.
  5. Ability to influence, motivate, and lead high-performing teams.
  6. High school diploma or equivalent.
