WHAT’S THE JOB?

Based in a world‑class Dexterra camp facility, the Baker’s Assistant supports the bakery operation by assisting with the preparation and baking of fresh goods to the highest Dexterra standards.

Reporting to the Baker,this role focuses on hands‑on production, quality control, and sanitation, ensuring a consistent supply of high‑quality baked goods to support daily meal service

YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE

  • Assisting the Baker with preparing and baking goods from scratch
  • Following approved recipes, menus, and product directions when preparing baked goods
  • Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient, fresh, and well‑presented supply of baked goods
  • Ensuring the quality of baked goods and desserts meets Dexterra standards
  • Supporting consistent food quality in accordance with client requirements, including special dietary considerations
  • Complying with all food hygiene and Food Safety regulations
  • Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing bakery equipment, tools, and overall work areas
  • Assisting with proper storage, labelling, and rotation of baked products
  • Supporting the Baker and culinary team with additional duties as required

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bakery or food service experience
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Ability to maintain quality and consistency in a high‑volume production setting
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness
  • Team‑oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction
