Summary:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer (#1) for Sports Medicine reports to the Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine and serves as a member of the Sports Medicine Team. This department oversees the Sports Medicine operations for a 16-sport Division 1 athletics program competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine.
- Assists in developing all healthcare, S-A welfare, emergency action and SOP procedures and policies as well as training room regulations.
- Assists in developing the administrative policy for the sports medicine department.
- Performs daily operations of the athletic training room, home athletic events, away contests.
- Responds to athletic medical emergencies and provide immediate care.
- Documents injuries and medical records for student-athletes
- Utilizes Best Practices and an Evidence Based approach create prevention, rehabilitation and treatment plans for all student-athletes under the supervision of the Associate Director for Sports Medicine.
- Completes administrative duties as assigned.
- Must have ATC certification in good standing.
- Must have valid Athletic Training license in New Jersey or be qualified to obtain a New Jersey License.
- Practices and maintain professional conduct in the Athletic Training Field.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $62,700

QualificationsQualification Standards:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, as well as ATC Certified in the State of New Jersey. Master’s degree preferred. Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy under time pressures.
- Candidate must have a clear understanding of NCAA rules and compliance regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse groups.
- Willing to work nights and weekends in support of scheduled events are required.

Experience:
- Preferred three to five years of full-time experience in intercollegiate athletics department of sports medicine. Familiarity with policy issues concerning the administration of intercollegiate athletics and higher education preferred.
