Job Description

Title: Assistant Athletic Director / Events & Facilities
Division Name: Presidential

The Assistant Athletic Director/Events & Facilities supervises all aspect of the Game Operations, Premium Events, and the Facilities staff. Between the three areas, this position will oversee several full time employees.

In the supervision of and responsibility for these major areas within Athletics, this position will represent the Athletic Department and the University in matters of significance ranging from policy interpretation, development, and implementation management. On a highly regular basis, through the procurement process, this position will bind Illinois State University and its Athletic Department to contracts with significant financial implications. Beyond standard procurement, this position will assist with planning for any new construction and renovation projects which inherently obligate the University in matters of significance both financial and otherwise. This position will serve as the scheduling liaison for MVC/MVFC, U-High, and ISU athletic games.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$74,000 - $80,000 annual

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Five (5) years (60 months) of full-time or part-time equivalent professional experience in Collegiate Athletics Facilities/Game Operations or related field

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s in Business, Finance, Leadership, Management, Organizational Behavior, Project Management, Sports Management or related field
2. Leadership experience with event management, game operations, facilities management, or related areas
3. Experience with the State of Illinois procurement process

Work Hours

Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Frequent night and weekend availability required.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
