The Assistant Athletic Director works collaboratively with the Athletic Director, school leadership, faculty, coaches, and staff to support the formation of St. Edward Central Catholic High School student-athletes in alignment with the school’s mission, the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools, and the school’s integral student outcomes. The Assistant Athletic Director helps foster an athletic culture rooted in Catholic values, character development, sportsmanship, teamwork, academic achievement, and respect for the dignity of every person.

The Assistant Athletic Director supports proactive decision-making that balances the needs and development of individual student-athletes and teams with the broader needs of the St. Edward community. Within a progressive educational environment, the Assistant Athletic Director works to know and support students in their developmental context while holding them accountable for their conduct, academic responsibilities, team commitments, and representation of the school.

The Assistant Athletic Director works closely with students, families, coaches, faculty, and administrators to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and promote long-term personal, academic, and athletic growth.

The Assistant Athletic Director assists with the daily administration and operation of the school’s athletic program. Responsibilities may include coordinating athletic schedules, supporting game-day and event operations, supervising athletic contests and facilities, monitoring student-athlete eligibility, assisting with transportation arrangements, managing equipment and uniforms,

maintaining athletic records, communicating with families and visiting schools, and helping ensure compliance with school, conference, and governing-body policies. The Assistant Athletic Director may also assist with the recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and professional development of coaches.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to promote Catholic ideals and culture and preferably have experience in an independent or Catholic school setting. The candidate will possess experience in athletics, student supervision, program administration, event coordination, and collaboration with students, parents, coaches, faculty, and community partners. Teaching, coaching, or school leadership experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of adolescent development, student-athlete wellness, athletic safety, and the role of interscholastic athletics in the formation of the whole person.

Requirements

Logistics

· Responsible for creating game schedules

· SNAP registration oversight

· Manage gym schedule

Game Operations

· Assist with facility set-up for home contests

· Schedule game workers

· Assist with ticketing management

· Contest supervision

Support Role

· Print/Share academic reports

· Assist with signing day coordination

· Facility upkeep support

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (educational and experience requirements)

o Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, administration, or related field preferred with 3+ years relevant school administrative experience.

o Five years experience at the high school level in teaching, coaching, or administrative capacity

o High level of interpersonal skills. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.

o Excellent oral and written communication skills

o Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

o Positive, creative, solution-oriented temperament

o A positive faith life, able to apply to this to the tasks of the job.

o Ability to utilize technology and platforms like SNAP and the Student Information System

o Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.

Availability on evenings and weekends is non-negotiable.

This is a part-time position requiring no more than 28 hours per week with daily schedule to be determined. The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with experience and could range from $20.00 - $26.00 per hour.
