
The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital has three (3) academic anesthesiologist positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. The anticipated start date is February 2027 or thereafter. Duties include the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students and the clinical care team. The successful candidate will provide pediatric anesthesia services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
The successful candidates will join our faculty on a full-time or part-time basis for a twelve-month appointment. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate Professors and Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. These positions are without tenure due to funding. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Initial compensation is anticipated to range from $470,520 to $479,436 for Assistant Professors, $527,388 to $535,848 for Associate Professors, and $589,428 to $600,192 for Professors. Total compensation includes base salary jointly provided by the University of Washington and Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG), guaranteed Monthly Additional Compensation (MAC) through the CUMG practice plan, and the potential for additional incentive compensation (not included in the ranges above). The base salary range for these positions will be Assistant Professor $374,556 - $429,936 annually ($31,213 - $35,828 per month), Associate Professor $452,124 - $485,040 annually ($37,677 - $40,420 per month), or Professor $505,188 - $542,952 ($42,099 - $45,246 per month), commensurate with experience, qualifications and academic rank , or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. The positions also include guaranteed MAC ranging from $44,808 to $95,964 annually ($3,734 to $7,997 per month), depending on rank. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, academic rank, and, where applicable, U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements. Only compensation paid directly by the University is included in University benefit calculations. Compensation provided through CUMG may be eligible for separate practice plan benefits. Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and have a minimum of one-year fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) in pediatric anesthesia. Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in anesthesiology and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Visa sponsorship is not available for part-time positions.
