Location: Claremont & Keene Campus

SCOPE OF WORK: Teach students in biological sciences as outlined in a prescribed program curriculum and assist in departmental initiatives and/or institutional activities that advance the mission of the college. Teaching responsibilities will include on-site instruction at the Keene Academic Center, the Claremont campus, or online instruction via Zoom and Canvas. Instructional assignments will include both day and evening courses. This position will also perform lab maintenance and lab preparation duties for all science courses in Keene and Claremont and shall report to the Department Chair of Liberal Arts at River Valley Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Education: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in biology, biomedical science, molecular biology, or a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment. Possession of a Master’s degree in Education shall require twelve (12) graduate credits in biological science or a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment and a Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences or chemical sciences.
Experience: Three (3) years of teaching experience in the biological sciences and one (1) year of experience working with waste disposal and lab safety protocols, preparing lab materials for biological science and chemistry courses.
OR
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in biology, biomedical science, molecular biology, or a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment.
Experience: Five (5) years of teaching experience in the biological sciences and one (1) year of experience working with waste disposal and lab safety protocols, preparing lab materials for biological science and chemistry courses.
License/Certification: Driver's License or ability to travel within catchment area.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Thorough knowledge of teaching methods, use of instructional materials and the organization of subject matter into effective teaching units in technology or other specialized programs. Complete knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and equipment in subjects being taught. Ability to evaluate student progress and provide guidance to both students and instructors. Ability to supervise professional instructional staff and collaborate in development of programs, policies and procedures. Ability to work effectively with businesses and community organizations. Ability to originate and implement new programs and to improve existing programs. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority
