Job Description

At HOKALI, we simplify how schools book, organize, and manage after-school programs and camps. We're looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our growing team as Assistant Area Manager.

In this role you will be responsible of:

Program Support & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor program quality, safety, and staff engagement.
  • Support Program Coordinators with program planning, implementation, and problem-solving.
  • Assist with maintaining consistency across all assigned program sites.
  • Review schedules, activity plans, and enrichment offerings to ensure alignment with program standards.
  • Provide recommendations to improve student engagement, attendance, and overall program quality.

    Supplemental Program Oversight
  • Coordinate and oversee implementation of supplemental programs across multiple sites.
  • Monitor participation, attendance, and effectiveness of supplemental programming.
  • Collaborate with vendors, instructors, and site teams to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Support troubleshooting and communication related to supplemental programs.

    Sports, Events & Enrichment Coordination
  • Organize and coordinate sports leagues, tournaments, jamborees, and special events.
  • Develop event schedules, logistics plans, and staffing assignments.
  • Ensure required permission slips, transportation arrangements, and safety procedures are completed.
  • Support planning and implementation of family engagement events and community activities.
    Staff Development & Support
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and support to Program Coordinators and Assistant Program Coordinators.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new staff.
  • Support performance improvement efforts through observations and feedback.
  • Help foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
    Operational & Compliance Support
  • Assist with monitoring attendance, staffing ratios, and required program documentation.
  • Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with organizational, district, and grant requirements.
  • Support incident response, follow-up, and documentation when necessary.
  • Assist with staffing coverage plans and operational problem-solving.
    Strategic Planning & Project Management
  • Assist the Area Manager with strategic initiatives and annual program goals.
  • Support implementation of new programs, systems, and organizational initiatives.
  • Analyze attendance, enrollment, and program data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Lead special projects as assigned.
    Partnership & Relationship Management
  • Support communication and relationship-building with school administrators and district partners.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, events, and community functions as needed.
  • Assist with resolving site concerns and maintaining positive school partnerships.
    Marketing & Enrollment Support
  • Assist with enrollment initiatives and student recruitment efforts.
  • Support marketing campaigns, program promotions, and outreach activities.
  • Collect success stories, photos, and program highlights to showcase program impact.


Schedule: Monday – Friday; 10AM to 6PM

Compensation: $35–$38/hr

Requirements

    • 18+ years of age
    • An educational background in education, child development, or a related field is highly preferred.
    • Passion for education and working with kids.
    • Strong leadership and professionalism skills when working with schools and students.
    • Experience working in schools and leading large teams.
    • Ability to engage and inspire students in a fun and educational environment.
    • Ability and willingness to complete 6 hours of online training prior to the start date. (Concussion Training, Mandated Reporter, First Aid & CPR)
