
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the contingent position of Assistant Archaeologist The Assistant Archaeologist will assist with fieldwork and laboratory processing of archaeological materials (artifacts, records) for the Rappahannock Indigenous Cultural Landscape survey. The successful candidate must have some fieldwork experience and be able to work in outdoor and variable weather conditions in both wooded and open environments. Some travel and overnight stay are required. The project is located in the Rappahannock River valley near Warsaw, Virginia. The project begins on or about January 1, 2026, and ends on or about May 31, 2026. The hourly pay is $20 - $22, depending on qualifications and experience.
