We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team and support our day-to-day accounting operations. In this role, you’ll assist with month-end and year-end close, prepare journal entries, manage reconciliations, and support accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 1–3 years’ accounting experience (or currently working towards a degree) who enjoys working with numbers, values accuracy, and is keen to develop their career in a collaborative and supportive environment. You’ll gain hands-on exposure across core accounting functions while working closely with experienced finance professionals.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on time
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment follow-ups
Process fortnightly payroll and maintain employee records
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audits, internal controls and any reporting requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently working towards)
1–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent time management and organisational abilities
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Experience with ERP systems
Interest in financial analysis and reporting
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the role
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
