About the Role
SMEC is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to be based in Tajikistan, supporting local and regional financial operations while working closely with the Georgia finance team and wider regional business.

The role will support day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, taxation, invoicing, payroll coordination, cash flow management, and compliance activities across Tajikistan and Georgia operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting records and financial transactions
• Prepare cash sheets, reconciliations, and monthly financial reports
• Support invoicing, collections, and accounts receivable activities
• Assist with payroll processing and vendor payments
• Ensure compliance with local tax, VAT, and financial regulations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities
• Coordinate with regional finance teams and external stakeholders
• Maintain proper financial documentation and reporting in EPICOR/1C systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Experience with MS Excel, 1C, EPICOR, or similar accounting systems
• Good understanding of accounting principles, taxation, VAT, and reconciliations
• Experience working with local tax and government authorities
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Fluent in the Tajik language
• Good English and Russian communication skills
