Along with building state-of-the-art projects, we build meaningful careers, lasting opportunities, and teams of dedicated individuals who truly own their work. As a leading turnkey specialty contractor specializing in Automation, Electric, Energy, and Power Services, our team tackles challenging, cutting-edge projects that provide opportunities to build new skills, confidence, and gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of different industries. We tackle industrial electrical installations, advanced automation systems, and renewable energy solutions.

Since our founding as a family-owned company in 1988, we've grown while staying true to our core values. Starting your career with Knobelsdorff means joining a culture that values your contributions, moves quickly, takes calculated risks, and celebrates team members who step up and own their work.

If you're ready to join a team where your voice matters, your growth is supported, and your impact is celebrated, Knobelsdorff (KE) is the place for you.

The Assets Manager owns the day‑to‑day operations and execution of KE’s tools, equipment, fleet, and consumable inventory programs. This role ensures assets are available, ready, safe, tracked, and accurately cost‑recovered to support field execution, operating within ISCM‑defined standards. The Assets Manager partners closely with Field Operations, Facilities, Procurement, Safety, and Finance to minimize downtime, improve accountability, and deliver reliable asset support to jobsites.

What You’ll Do: You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

Tools & Equipment Operations

  • Manage daily operations for tools and equipment, including receiving, tagging, storage, checkout/return, maintenance, repair, replacement, and retirement.
  • Ensure field teams have timely access to required tools and equipment to support productivity.
  • Execute readiness standards (“ready‑to‑issue”), inspection requirements, and repair turnaround expectations.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day coordination with third‑party rental vendors to ensure availability and cost control.
  • Monitor tool accountability and take corrective action to reduce loss and shrink.

Parts, Pieces, and Consumable Inventory

  • Oversee daily inventory operations for parts and consumables, including bin management, min/max levels, and replenishment.
  • Execute cycle counts and audits to maintain accuracy and reduce emergency purchases.
  • Support Operations with timely ordering and jobsite delivery.

Equipment Billing & Cost Recovery

  • Own daily execution of equipment billing in Viewpoint Spectrum, including utilization capture, approvals, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure billing is timely and accurate so job costs reflect actual asset usage.
  • Resolve billing issues in partnership with PMs, field leadership, and Accounting.

Systems & Asset Tracking

  • Manage daily use and compliance of tool tracking systems (Hilti and future solutions).
  • Ensure users are trained, data is accurate, and system standards are followed.
  • Produce routine operational reports on availability, utilization, repair turnaround, shrink, and billing performance.

Fleet Operations

  • Oversee daily fleet operations, including maintenance coordination, registrations, lifecycle tracking, and uptime.
  • Execute the fleet managed‑service transition (Emkay), including onboarding and vendor coordination.
  • Track incidents and claims and partner with Safety on corrective actions.

People Leadership & Cross‑Functional Support

  • Lead the Assets team’s day‑to‑day workload, priorities, and performance.
  • Partner with Facilities on yard layout, storage standards, and shipping/receiving flow.
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for field teams regarding asset availability and issues.
  • Maintain a strong internal‑customer mindset while enforcing standards and accountability.

Qualifications

You’re someone who shows up ready to work hard, learn fast, and contribute to a team that takes pride in doing things right. Successful candidates typically bring:

  • Strong working knowledge of: tool/equipment lifecycle management, inventory controls, preventive maintenance, vendor/rental management, and job-cost impacts/cost recovery.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; Viewpoint Spectrum experience is strongly preferred (or closely related construction ERP + strong ability to learn quickly).
  • High accountability, strong communication, and the ability to influence field teams without creating red tape.

Bonus Points:
