Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in strengthening risk management across Engineering and Baggage at Heathrow. As a trusted partner to the Asset Risk and Opportunity Manager, you will help embed robust risk processes, ensure high‑quality risk data, and support informed, risk‑based decision‑making. By analysing trends, developing predictive insights, and driving continuous improvement, you will directly contribute to our safety, reliability, and operational excellence—ensuring our management systems remain compliant and aligned to Heathrow’s strategic goals.

  • Champion and embed Heathrow’s risk management approach across Engineering and Baggage by coaching and constructively challenging Risk Owners to ensure accuracy, consistency, and ownership.
  • Foster a positive risk culture across internal teams, consultants, and contractors, ensuring risk‑based decisions support the delivery and maintenance of certified Management Systems (ISO 55000, 50000, 14000, 45000, 27000).
  • Support Risk Owners in preparing, updating, and running risk models to inform anticipated outcomes and strategic decision‑making.
  • Analyse, risk and control trends to provide data‑driven insights, identify emerging risks, and support continuous improvement across Engineering and Baggage.
  • Facilitate collaborative workshops to promote consistency, transparency, and confidence in both risk processes and data quality.
  • Lead risk governance and reporting activities, contribute risk expertise to cross‑functional projects, and deliver assurance reviews on high‑impact risks.
  • Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent training and experience.
  • Strong understanding of how risk informs and supports certified Management Systems (e.g., ISO 55000, 50000, 14000, 45000, 27000).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex risk concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Highly collaborative, with strong influencing skills and the ability to role‑model behaviours that support cultural and organisational change.

    Desirable

  • Professional risk certification (e.g., IRM, APM) is highly desirable.
  • Experience developing risk and assurance models for large organisations or similarly complex environments.

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of HeathrowWorking arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
