At 4000sqm, our new Bourke St Flagship is not only the largest of our 100+ stores but set to become a landmark destination for the city, and a total beauty wonderland for all who visit.

We are searching for an exceptional Asset Protection Lead to protect and support our new MECCA Bourke Street Flagship store! As the Asset Protection Lead, you'll implement loss prevention strategies that safeguard our spectacular space, products, and most importantly, our people all while maintaining the exceptional customer experience MECCA is known for. This newly created role offers the unique opportunity to shape asset protection practices in one of the world's biggest beauty destinations.

Day-to-day responsibilities: As an Asset Protection Lead,

  • Lead with exemplary customer service to minimise theft and loss, performing daily floor walks with store leadership to maintain perimeter integrity and address security concerns.

  • Manage security guard service levels and coverage, ensuring schedules align with dynamic loss controls, and facilitate regular performance reviews.

  • Build strong capability across teams to embed loss prevention as part of everyday operations, providing leadership, training and guidance on protocols and safety measures.

  • Actively engage within Auror system to log incidents, develop investigations and report to Police, while partnering with operations teams to deliver consistent stock counts.

  • Analyse loss data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, review daily stock adjustments, and investigate unknown and known loss.

  • Conduct weekly audits on store security systems (e.g., EAS, CCTV) to ensure functionality and effectiveness, reporting any faults detected.

  • Work collaboratively with Operational and Inventory Leads to employ preventative stock loss strategies and activate emergency protocol management at Bourke Street.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities and stakeholders, including Melbourne City Council, Protection Officers, and Victoria Police.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Experience in loss prevention, security and retail operations

  • Understanding and application of policies and procedures

  • Confident and clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills

  • A customer-obsessed mindset with attention to detail and drive for results

  • Organisation and time management skills with ability to operate in an agile environment

  • Safety and compliance orientation

  • Current Security License and First-aid Certificate (highly desired)

  • Understanding of Police procedures and incident response management (highly desired)
