Our advisor-led wealth management businesses provide financial planning, investment management, banking and comprehensive advice to a wide range of clients, including ultra-high net worth and high net worth individuals, as well as family offices, foundations and endowments, and corporations and their employees. We are looking for designers who can dive into complex problems to deliver intuitive and impactful products, while focusing on cultivating a culture of collaboration, exploration, and growth.

The Product Design Vice President will lead design for the Onboarding / Account Opening experience, shaping the digital journeys that help Wealth clients, advisors, and service teams open accounts with clarity, confidence, and efficiency.

This role supports the end-to-end design process for account opening workflows, from discovery and journey mapping through wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs. The VP will partner closely with product, engineering, operations, legal, and compliance teams to simplify complex financial, regulatory, and operational requirements into intuitive experiences that reduce friction, improve completion rates, and meet the high standards expected across Wealth Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership & Execution (Onboarding / Account Opening). Lead the end-to-end design strategy and execution for onboarding and account opening experiences, guiding teams in creating user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs that drive conversion, reduce friction, and meet regulatory requirements.

  • Prototyping & Experience Visualization. Oversee the development of interactive prototypes to communicate complex onboarding journeys, enabling stakeholder alignment, usability validation, and executive decision-making.

  • Data-Driven Optimization. Drive continuous improvement of onboarding funnels through data analysis, user research, and experimentation. Translate insights into prioritized design initiatives that improve completion rates, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership. Partner closely with product, engineering, legal, compliance, and operations teams to align on requirements, constraints, and trade-offs. Ensure seamless implementation of design solutions within highly regulated environments.

  • Team Leadership & Quality Oversight. Manage and mentor designers, fostering a high-performing team focused on craft excellence. Provide guidance and critique to ensure strong typography, layout, accessibility, and overall design quality across all deliverables.

  • Simplification of Complex Workflows. Drive the translation of complex financial, regulatory, and operational requirements into intuitive, client-friendly experiences. Advocate for clarity, transparency, and ease of use throughout the onboarding journey.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.

  • Experience designing complex enterprise applications, with an interest in financial services or consumer-facing digital products

  • 8+ years of experience in product design or related disciplines, with demonstrated success leading teams and delivering complex, large-scale digital products.

  • Expert-level proficiency across the full human-centered design lifecycle, including research, experience strategy, journey mapping, information architecture, UX/UI design, usability testing, and accessibility.

  • Proven portfolio of shipped products demonstrating design leadership, strategic impact, and measurable business and user outcomes.

  • Strong executive presence with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in complex, fast-paced, and commercially driven environments.

  • Advanced expertise with design tools (e.g., Figma) and a track record of shaping, scaling, and governing design system

  • Extensive experience working in agile environments and collaborating closely with product management and engineering teams at scale.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

  • Experience hiring, managing, and developing high-performing design teams, including coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
