Job Description
As a Middle Office Head within the Asset Management team, you will lead the team to collaborate with internal business and tech partners, global/regional functions, and external vendors/counterparties. Your role will encompass end-to-end middle office operations, including trade settlement, cash clearing handling, front office support and vendor oversight. You will support the Front Office with Start of Day checks and Cash Management, ensuring close coordination with PMs, dealers, brokers, custodians, and service vendors for updates, issue follow-ups, and escalations. Additionally, you will lead and coordinate projects and changes to support business growth and process enhancements.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead the team to perform end-to-end middle office operations including but not limited to trade settlement, cash clearing handling, front office support, asset servicing management and vendor oversight.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders (portfolio managers, compliance, controls, risk, client service, operations, internal and external service providers) to design and drive comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements.
- Oversee offshored and outsourced activity whilst ensuring performance and service levels are met.
- Partner with internal and external teams to set up new products in internal system or with external counterparties.
- Establish areas of improvement and implement new procedures and change existing process flows to ensure tight controls front to back.
- Manage projects and initiatives, such as process improvement, business model changes, system implementation, new product or new market initiatives rollouts, and other ad hoc projects.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in the asset management industry or a related industry, ideally with exposure to settlement or trading support, ETF Operations and broker KYC process;
- Hold AMAC qualification
- High level of attention to detail and ability to resolve conflicting priorities;
- Exceptional expertise in the investment market, with a strong understanding of the evolving market structure and regulatory environment;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and hybrid environment, a “can do” attitude and the willingness to learn new applications in an ever-changing environment;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English;
- Knowledge of markets products (Equities/ Fixed Income/ FX/ Fund of fund/ Money Market) and associated pre/post trade operational processes with specific functional expertise in one of Middle office, settlements or asset services for equities/fixed income is highly desirable
