  • Compare repair cost, downtime and fuel use across vessels and equipment types.
  • Work alongside the engineering team and shipyard project managers on active repair projects.
  • Clean and standardize maintenance data to improve data quality and reporting.
  • Build a return-on-investment analysis to support an upcoming capital decision.
  • Assist with project work such as scoping repairs, reviewing shipyard quotes and invoices, and tracking schedule and cost.
  • Visit vessels to see how equipment is used day to day.
  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable asking questions, seeking out information and following through independently.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical minded.
  • Able to work on vessels and in shipyards while wearing required PPE, including climbing ladders and working in tight spaces, at heights and outdoors.

Why Join Us?

  • Gain hands-on experience in marine engineering and shipyard project management within the inland marine industry.
  • A chance to present your work to senior management.
  • Networking opportunities throughout the Company and with other summer interns.
  • Inclusive and diverse culture.

This is a paid summer internship opportunity located onsite in Paducah, KY, with internship dates ranging from June 1, 2027 to early August 2027 (can be flexible on dates).
