About the Role

As an Asset Management Intern at Z Modular (a division of Zekelman Industries), you will support the management and performance of Z Modular's growing portfolio of communities and real estate assets. Working closely with the Director of Asset Management, you will assist with leasing activities, operational reporting, market research, property performance tracking, and capital improvement initiatives while collaborating with internal teams and third-party operators.

This is a full-time, on-site internship located in Austin, TX. The official Zekelman internship program runs from May 24, 2027 through August 13, 2027.

What You'll Do

• Support communication with third-party operators to ensure community performance goals and compliance requirements are met.
• Monitor community performance and prepare reports for management review and decision-making.
• Coordinate leasing documentation, including tracking leasing inquiries, compiling leasing data, and preparing leasing summaries.
• Support revenue tracking and cost control efforts by maintaining accurate records, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct market research and collect data on leasing trends, competitive properties, and market conditions.
• Prepare and distribute periodic performance reports and leasing updates to management and third-party operators.
• Monitor contracts and vendor agreements for key dates, budget alignment, and renewal opportunities.
• Collect and organize data for property comparisons, market analysis, and portfolio performance reviews.
• Track capital improvement projects and collaborate with site teams to support project execution and timeline adherence.
• Participate in team meetings and prepare summaries of key discussions, action items, and follow-up activities.
• Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.

Who You Are

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
• Demonstrates a foundational understanding of rental real estate, property management, or asset management principles.
• Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, financial information, and performance reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Maintains strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Brings a proactive attitude and a desire to learn about asset management within the real estate industry.
