The ISS5 provides analytical and technical support for purchasing, operating, maintaining, and managing information technology assets and provides expertise in the decision making in identifying new technical standards and processes or modifying and enhancing existing standards and processes. The ISS5 provides technical consultation and training to users, technical assistance and coordination to IS support staff, leads projects as assigned, and participates in strategic planning.
The ISS5 receives general guidance. Work is assigned in terms of broad product or general project objectives. Overall performance is reviewed for technical sufficiency and conformance with standards. The ISS5 has considerable latitude in deciding methods and resources to accomplish work goals.
The purpose of this position is to coordinate, communicate, and validate IT asset management purchases and inventory in the ODHS/OHA information technology structure. This position will also track and produce metrics related to IT asset management within ODHS and OHA. This position is part of the OIS Business Administration section.

Minimum Qualifications: These qualifications must be visible in your application for consideration.
Software procurement support for a complex IT system infrastructure, spanning multiple environments and agencies.
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
IT asset management, software licensing, or software procurement in a government setting.
(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Special Requirements: To be hired, you must have a criminal records check that meets OHA criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment.
Preference to candidates with professional government experience in the following: reviewing and understanding software license agreements, complex software licensing experience, software distribution experience, technology procurement experience, basic understanding of Oregon procurement law as it applies to government agencies (e.g., the Buy Decision).
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
