About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to lead and coordinate Council’s asset management functions to support the long-term planning, performance and sustainability of municipal infrastructure.
Reporting to the Manager Projects and Engineering, the Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Council’s asset management framework, systems and practices. The role leads the Assets Team and works across the organisation to ensure asset management planning aligns with Council’s strategic objectives and community needs.
The position has responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of asset management plans, service plans and long-term capital works programs. It also oversees asset data, condition assessments, valuation processes and reporting to support informed decision-making and compliance requirements.
Providing technical leadership, the Asset Management Coordinator drives best-practice asset lifecycle management, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures asset information systems are effectively managed and utilised across Council.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and consultants, the role contributes to safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes while supporting Council’s long-term financial and infrastructure planning objectives.

What you need to Succeed
You will bring demonstrated experience in asset management within a local government or infrastructure environment, with a strong understanding of lifecycle asset management principles and their application to long-term planning.
You will have proven experience developing and implementing asset management plans, service plans and long-term capital works programs, supported by sound knowledge of asset valuation, condition assessment and data management practices. A high level of capability in managing asset information systems and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights is essential.
You will have experience providing technical advice to inform infrastructure renewal and investment decisions, along with strong contract and project management capability.
The role requires demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvement across the organisation. Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills are critical, along with the ability to operate across multiple business areas and align asset management practices with broader organisational objectives. Relevant qualifications in asset management, engineering or a related field are required.
