Job Description

J.P. Morgan Asset Management is a global leader in investment management, overseeing trillions in assets for institutions, financial intermediaries, and individual investors. As an Associate within the China Institutional Business team, you will perform a broad range of business support functions that require confidentiality, diligence, and self-motivation. You will possess excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and multitask efficiently. You will follow established procedures, processes, and guidelines when performing assigned tasks, and exercise good judgment and appropriate discretion to deliver timely, high-quality results aligned with the team’s objectives and best interests.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc client reports and analyses in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and maintain presentation materials for internal stakeholders and external client meetings.
  • Compile internal reports and updates for senior management, including periodic summaries and key metrics.
  • Handle incoming requests and respond to enquiries from clients and business partners, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Support Client Advisors proactively across sales efforts and ongoing relationship management activities.
  • Conduct industry, market, and competitor research, with guidance from senior colleagues, and summarize key takeaways.
  • Liaise with relevant internal and external partners on system and workflow enhancements, and support compliance- and regulatory-driven policies and projects.
  • Coordinate and assist with event planning and execution (e.g., client events, seminars, business meetings).
  • Review existing sales and operational processes and identify opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency on an ongoing basis.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, ideally in asset management (or closely related client-facing/support functions).
  • Highly organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Adaptive and fast learner; responsive, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong listening, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin required
  • Demonstrated ability to follow up, follow through, and deliver on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
